Through the beginning of studying the course-Social Media Analytics, I have known about basic conception about social media and I would like to share with you. Social media refer to a environment users contribute to in their own ways and create a space for information exchange. As time goes on, information spreading develops from time to time. There are lots of social applications most people use today, such Facebook, twitter, YouTube and so forth.

Comparing with traditional media, social media may show more advantages. When we analyse social media, we need to consider diverse questions. Nowadays, social media become global phenomenon in which people interact and acquire useful information with others. Social media analytics involve science and engineering, such Naive Bayes Classifier and text classification, K-mean Cluster, Model-based Text Clustering. We should do sentiment analysis after we collect people's opinions so that we can further analyse with technology.

Human and computers offer respective substantial advantages for content analysis. The entire content analysis includes many procedures. So does the nature language processing. In our daily life, each sentence we say consists of different components which have different roles. Language modes display obvious characteristics in a distribution of sequence.
In sum, this is my original feeling about social media.

“Occupying sofa” is a common behavior often in online forums trying to be the first to leave a comment or reply.

I wholeheartedly endorse your explaination of the significance of social media analysis, especially, content and sentiment analysis. Accurately locating, extracting and analysing target information from such a giant information pool is a seriously significant and interesting task.
回覆刪除I agrees with you information technology enabled content analysis. Analysis the content on the WWW is not a easy task. Although you have a power machine, you may not know how to utilize the computation power. I think it is not a simple word counting problem. It may need to extract the exact meaning or idea via the text or picture, it may need a lot of NLP api to support your work.
